Can you imagine a doctor being imprisoned just for treating a patient, or a journalist detained simply for publishing an article critical of his government? What about a priest arrested for the “crime” of advocating for freedom to practice his religion, or a musician sentenced to three years in jail because the lyrics to his songs are “too political”? Whether held in solitary confinement or crammed into overcrowded cells with common criminals, thousands around the world are imprisoned as a result of exercising the fundamental freedoms we hold dear, and which are enshrined in international law.
Your contribution to Freedom Now will help us help prisoners of conscience, their families, and their communities.
